i think i'm getting the hang of speed painting on my DS, so today i tried some quickies in photoshop. Doing some random blocks of shapes until i 'see' something. This is what came out. It was about 20 minutes each. I should try some colour next time.

I have Starcraft on the brain again.

These don't particularly grab me and pull me into them.

Things to keep in mind. Contrast. Composition. Point of interest. Flow.

Speed paints are a great exercise, but they're meant to convey a feeling or mood quickly and with few strokes. Nathan Fowkes is the best example of what can be done with few strokes. I suggest working from life for these. Use that DS on location to capture moments, but in big blobs of colour.
